Multimedia software enables users to combine various media in order to create a dynamic, informative and often times entertaining presentation. Desktop publishing resourcesStudents can use the following software to design and create desktop publications such as letters, classified ads, menus, greeting cards, timelines, picture books, etc.
Desktop publishing software enables users to produce printable materials, which can also be made available electronically. 1. Microsoft Publisher: This software is available on the desktop computers located in The Media Center. This is user-friendly template-based software. 2. Microsoft Excel: This software is available on the desktop computers located in The Learning Center. Can be used to create spreadsheets, timelines, tables and charts and graphs. 3. Google Sheets: Similar to Excel, this software can be used in the cloud. 4. Lucidpress: Available in the Google app store, this free software is great for creating magazines or newsletters. 5. Lucidchart: Flow charts, organizational charts, maps and Venn diagrams are just some of the documents available with Lucidchart. Available in the Google app store. Publish your own picture bookUsing online software like snapfish, shutterfly or even Walmart.com, students can produce photo books for free. Printing the books incurs a fee, but sharing the account with the teacher will enable the teacher to see the product online at no cost.
This is a fun, creative way to design and publish your own picture book. Think about the story/picture books you remember as a child. Combining graphics with text you too can tell a story that not only meets the requirements of this assignment, but can educate and inspire as well.
